For this “ Light Mandala” image I began with long exposure light painting of crystallized artifacts in a Mayan cave. Then in the digital darkroom, I transformed this swirly image into a mandala. This image awakens a timeless communion with the past, provides space for reflection and inspires the remembrance of an ancient world interwoven with the present day.
MIXED MEDIA PAINTINGS INSPIRED BY NATURE Lisa Lipsett is a Canadian mixed media artist who has been painting for over 20 years. Her art muse is nature- her patterns, reflected light, shadows and watery movement. She paints in oil, raw earth pigment, acrylic, ink, gouache, watercolour, photo transfer and wax and is a no "holds barred artist", who loves to experiment and discover.
